Saturday & Sunday in Edinburgh

Saturday was another full day in Scotland. We woke up early and headed to Arthur's Seat, which we assumed would be a "short stroll" to the top of a hill. We were wrong. After an exhausting hike we were at the top of a mountain overlooking all of Edinburgh and beyond. Well worth it, but it may have gone more smoothly had we been prepared. Also as we were coming down we found a trail that would have made our ascent way easier, but whatever we're fit now. Then we ate lunch at a cafe and headed back to the hostel for a while.

I ditched my camera for the rest of the weekend, but on Saturday afternoon we continued to cover new ground in Edinburgh and do some shopping. That night, we went on a ghost tour where we got to see the vaults under South Bridge and hear about the ghosts that supposedly live there. We were also joined by Canadian Andrew, a fellow hostel dweller.

On Sunday I spent the morning exploring Edinburgh for myself, and revisiting The Elephant House. The group reconvened for lunch, then our train back to London left at 3 PM (or 15:00 as the confusing train people say). Overall, the weekend was exhausting and amazing. I didn't expect to love Scotland as much as I did, and I have no doubt that I'll be back again eventually.
