Combining Type Styles

In a time where sharp, simple design is on the uprise, I've found it more and more rare to see several different styles of type combined in one design. However, when applied correctly, this technique can yield results that are just as clean and simple as sticking to one style. These are a couple examples I've found in the past few days of successfully combining different styles of type.

Here we see script, decorative, and sans-serif typefaces used together.

This storefront combined serif, sans-serif, and script typefaces.
